Painterly Abstractions - The Experimental Films of Samantha Kruskowski

Since 2000, Samantha Krukowski has been making direct films that move paint in time, and videos that explore the motion worlds of physical substances like eggs, water and bubbles. This screening will include the first public screening of the optical print of Krukowski’s handmade 16mm film ArtReading, which has previously screened only in digital format. Samantha Krukowski is an artist/designer, author and educator who has long been interested in the roles of impermanence, ephemerality and (in)visibility in creative production. Her videos, paintings and drawings have been exhibited nationally and internationally. Originally from New York and St. Louis, she currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio where she teaches design at the University of Cincinnati.
